DGFT Modifies SION A-2005: Revised Input Allowances for Phenoxyethanol Exports under FTP 2023

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has introduced crucial modifications to the import-export framework by recalibrating the Standard Input Output Norms (SION). Through the issuance of Public Notice No. 52/2025-26 on 20 March 2026, the regulatory authority has officially updated the specific material allowances and product classifications categorized under SION A-2005.

These adjustments are designed to reflect realistic manufacturing consumption metrics, thereby ensuring that an assessee engaged in international trade maintains accurate import entitlements against their outward supplies.

The recent modifications draw their legal validity directly from the central trade regulations. The Director General of Foreign Trade executed these changes by exercising the administrative powers vested under Paragraph 1.03 and Paragraph 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023.
